The Japan Academy Awards, the highest honor in the Japanese film industry, will be held for the 47th time this year. The final results of the "Japan Academy Award Topic Award'', the only one where general movie fans can participate in voting, were announced on the same station's "Ninety-Nine All Night Nippon'' broadcast on February 22nd (every Thursday from 2:00 to 3:00 a.m.), and Yamada won the topical award in the actor category.
After graduating from high school, Yamada went to a training school to study acting, and says, "I wrote on the front of my notebook that I could read it anytime, saying, "One day I'll be an actor who can win an Academy Award.'' On this day, he announced his joy to the listeners, saying, "I was selected in the actor category!'' and expressed his happiness by saying, "Thank you.''
Yuki Yamada tears up after receiving the award:
During the broadcast, Yamada was overcome with emotion and burst into tears as he reported, "Thanks to everyone, I am able to stand on the Academy Awards stage.'' She further expressed her happiness by saying, "This is a dream stage for me.''
Yamada confessed that he was actually concerned about the results of the "Japan Academy Awards" every year as an actor, but since it didn't lead to any results, he thought, "I don't care about the awards," and "I wish I could report on it someday." In the past, when fellow actor Masaki Suda won the Best Actor Award, he said, "I was extremely happy,'' and said, "Yuki Yamada invited me there because I won the Japan Academy Prize New Actor Award for his work.'' I'd like to report that I was selected as an award winner,'' he said, adding that his work with Suda, who co-starred with him in the movie "Ah, Wilderness'' (2017), was so great that he wanted to contribute by winning the award. I looked back on those days.
That's why he can't help but feel happy about receiving this award. "I couldn't believe it was because I was doing radio, but thanks to everyone, I was both disappointed and extremely grateful, and I was able to stand on the Academy Awards stage,'' he said, expressing his gratitude and crying with joy as he talked.
